Minecraft on the Xbox 360 is celebrating three years since its initial release, and in order to mark this moment, not one but three different birthday skin DLC packs are available for free until May 17 for both Minecraft on the Xbox 360 and on the Xbox One console.

Minecraft gained a huge number of fans on the PC platform many years ago, and it first dipped its toes onto the console market through the Xbox 360 edition back in 2012. Since then, 4J Studios brought Mojang's creation to the Xbox One, PS3, PS4, or PS Vita.

However, the 360 edition still holds a special place in the hearts of the two developers. As such, now that it's celebrating three years since the initial launch, a special celebration is underway.

According to the official website, Minecraft Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners will be able to download for free three different skin packs that commemorate the birthday of the popular game on consoles.

There's an all-new bundle that features veteran Mojang employees but also the first and second birthday skin packs that were released in previous years for the 360. All three are available for the first time on the Xbox One, and you can check them out below.

Bear in mind that the three skin DLC packs are free only until May 17, 2015.
