The PlayStation 4 edition of the open-world building and survival game Minecraft might soon become available on the platform, according to developer 4J Studios.

The news comes from the developer's Twitter account, where the PlayStation 4 edition was revealed to have been handed over to Sony for a "final test." 4J Studios did not specify, however, how long the process would take.

Regarding the Xbox One and PlayStation Vita editions of Minecraft, which are also currently in the works at 4J Studios, the developer mentioned that it was still fixing bugs. The three new versions of Mojang's block cracking and stacking game are expected to come out later this month.

Since its release on PC back in 2011, Minecraft has sold a total of over 54 million copies across all the platforms that it's currently available on, and is expected to sell a lot more once the three new versions come out.

If you happen to already own either the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft, you will be able to purchase the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 edition, respectively, at a greatly discounted price, and transfer your save file to the new and improved versions, featuring worlds up to 32 times bigger.
