Sony seems determined to prove its love for indie game designers by giving Markus Persson, the creator of Minecraft, a golden PlayStation One console as a way of inviting him to a special event during the upcoming E3 2013 trade show.

On his official Twitter page, he says, “Got a vip invitation to an e3 event from sony in the form of a gold colored psone. Wow.”

Notch has also received a copy of Dungeon Master 2 from Sony, although what motivated the gift is not clear at the moment.

Minecraft is available on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft but Mojang has not announced any plans to move the game to the PlayStation brand of home consoles.

Sony said during its PlayStation 4 presentation that it wanted as many indie developers as possible to use the new platform.
