Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the upcoming action adventure game modeled after the Lord of the Rings universe, will be a fully single-player experience, as it won't feature cooperative or competitive multiplayer.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was revealed to the world last year, promising to deliver an impressive action adventure experience that allowed players to explore the mythical realm of Mordor and interact with all sorts of characters from the Lord of the Rings universe.

After getting a gameplay demonstration earlier this month, developer Monolith has now confirmed on the game's Twitter account that Shadow of Mordor is a single-player experience. As such, fans shouldn't expect to see a cooperative or competitive multiplayer mode.

The game is set to debut later this year for a variety of platforms, including PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, and Xbox One.
