The development team at Monolith Productions and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announce that the upcoming Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will include a Season Pass offer that will bring a range of exclusive content for the title.

The two companies are saying that players will be able to enjoy:

- Guardians of the Flaming Eye Orc Warband mission – which allows gamers to battle the elite defenders serving Sauron in order to get access to a Rising Flame rune; - Early access to the Trials of War challenge series – allowing fans to battle against selected enemy legions in a horde style mode; - Lord of the Hunt and Bright Lord missions, the first focused on monsters that can drop runes and the second allowing gamers to become Celebrimbor, the great Elven smith of the Second Age, in a flashback battle.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will also deliver more runes, skins, and additional downloadable content to gamers who get the Season Pass.

The game is designed to allow players to become Talion, a Ranger of the Black Gate, who is on a personal mission of revenge against Sauron.

A new system called Nemesis means that players can influence the state of the world by interacting with enemy characters.

The experience is designed to mix an open world approach with impressive combat moves while also giving fans of the Tolkien-created fantasy studio a chance to study a period that the books and the movies have not dealt with.

Launch date is set for September 30 and the title will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and last-gen consoles.
