The team at Microsoft preparing the launch of the Xbox One says that the customer base for its home consoles is currently expanding as many gamers start their own families and share their experiences with friends.

Pav Bhardwaj, a product manager working on the next-gen device, tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “I can’t really talk numbers or actual detail, but we actually are seeing the entire breadth of the Xbox customer base growing. It kind of ranges from that young customer all the way up – we’re seeing more families involved, core gamers are growing up and having kids, who are now enjoying the Xbox 360.”

The executive also believes that after the Xbox One is launched, many hardcore gamers will buy one and will gift their 360 to a relative or friend, which will lead to an expansion of the install base of the brand.

The new platform will be out on November 15 in North America and two weeks later in Europe.
