It seems that the coming Xbox One home console from Microsoft will not allow gamers to use external storage when the device is first launched, but support for the feature will be added at some point in the near future.

Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the leading community manager at the company, says on his most recent podcast that there are other priorities for the development team that need to be solved before the device is available.

The Xbox One will include a 500 GB hard drive internally, which is pretty big for a home console, allowing users to store music, videos and games.

The new console will also use the cloud so that players can store saves and other generated content.

The Xbox 360 currently allows gamers to use external hard drives, but it requires them to adhere to certain standards.
