Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the community manager at Microsoft, says that the company is taking into account the possibility of adding support for mouse and keyboard to the Xbox One after launch.

The option is a testament to the power and flexibility that will be included in the Software Development Kit associated with the coming next-gen console.

He is quoted by VG247 as saying that, "If that’s something they’re interested in doing, we’ll certainly help them do that. Certainly it’s possible, but we don’t have anything to announce at this time."

Hryb says that adding support for mouse and keyboard would not mean that their use would be ideal.

The announcement might mean that the Xbox One will at one point offer support for a number of titles that traditionally have only been delivered on the PC.

The new device will be launched on November 22 in 13 core territories and in 2014 in the rest of the world.
