Split-screen is only available for HDTV owners, so SDTV ones can get refunds

Minecraft appeared on the Xbox 360 earlier this month and, since then, quite a few players complained about the fact that the split-screen feature couldn’t be used on standard-definition TV sets (SDTVs), as it’s only supported on high definition ones (HDTVs).

Seeing as how this fact wasn’t mentioned in the game’s description on the Xbox Live Arcade, Microsoft has now confirmed that it’s going to offer refunds to those who want their money back.

The description has since been changed and those who bought the game before this modification are eligible for a refund. All they need to do is go to Microsoft’s Xbox Support page, located here, and get in touch with a representative form the company.

Minecraft was awaited by quite a lot of Xbox 360 owners, after managing to deliver a thoroughly engrossing experience on the PC, and sales have broken records.

While this split-screen issue is unfortunate, it’s great to hear that Microsoft is making it up to its customers.
