Microsoft announces that, after eliminating the Microsoft Point system for its online games store, it is implementing a new version of the Xbox Live Rewards program, which is designed around the new concept of Credits.

Players will be able to get more points towards tiered rewards by performing actions that are linked to the Gold level for Xbox Live.

Gamers can earn Credits as long as they renew their subscription, complete surveys from companies, refer friends, and more.

They can also play games for a certain time in order to progress.

All Credits gamers acquire can then be used to buy any kind of content from the Xbox Games Store, which is at the moment set to use the currency of the country where the player is registered.

Microsoft plans a bigger change in its digital distribution service for content that will be linked to the launch of the new Xbox One.
