Microsoft has announced that it will donate a number of Xbox 360 home consoles and Kinect systems, along with video games, for them to the group Right to Play, which tries to improve the lives of children by teaching them through sports and technology about a variety of social issues.

Microsoft will also fund some Right to Play operations and will promote their cause by including branding in the upcoming content for Kinect Sports: Season Two.

Johann Olav Koss, who is the president and CEO of Right To Play, stated, “With Microsoft’s support we will continue to improve the lives of so many children and to spread our message about the power of sport and play to transform lives.”

He added, “Our programmes teach children important lessons through play about how to protect themselves from disease, how to resolve conflicts peacefully, how to be more tolerant. A simple game of tag is an opportunity to teach children that malaria is passed from person to person through mosquitoes. That Microsoft shares our belief in the value of play makes this partnership a perfect match.”
