Video game publisher Microsoft says that,at the moment, the original intellectual property that Black Tusk was revealed to be working on in 2013 is shelved because the studio needs to devote all its resources to the newly acquired Gears of Wars franchise.

Phil Spencer, an executive in charge of Xbox One products, tells GamesIndustry.biz that, "Obviously, this will become a big focus of the studio and something that will be critical to them driving forward. There’s not really something that was on the road map that all of a sudden goes away."

Apparently, the new IP was still largely in the concept phase and was using the Unreal tech.

Microsoft says that Black Tusk is both humble and excited to be able to use the Gears of War franchise.

No plans for a new game in the long-running series have yet been announced, but fans should get ready for an official reveal around E3 2014.
