Developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver announce that they will launch the new Metro Redux game bundle on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony on August 26 of this year in the United States and on August 29 in Europe.

Gamers who get it will be able to play upgraded versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, with all downloadable content included and with significant improvements to the graphics quality.

The Ranger Mode is offered for both titles and the companies are also including Spartan and Survival play styles, each of them designed to introduce new challenges for dedicated fans of the series to tackle.

Via digital download, players will be able to get Metro 2033 and Last Light separately on the platforms that they like best.

Metro is a series of shooters that takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where mankind has managed to survive in the complex subway network of Moscow and the player needs to deal with both human and monster enemies as he seeks to survive and explore the world.

It's unclear whether the team at 4A Games has plans to create a third game in the series for next-gen consoles.
