Publisher Deep Silver has announced the release of Metro Redux, the remastered versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms, and has offered two new screenshots, showing off the improved visuals.

The remastered re-release of the two post-apocalyptic games includes all downloadable content made public for the titles, as well as significant improvements to the graphics, and comes with all the enhancements in gameplay, artificial intelligence and gunplay seen in Metro: Last Light also translated into Metro 2033.

This will be the first time that Metro 2033 lands on a PlayStation platform, as the original first-person shooter was only released for PC and Xbox 360.

Metro Redux is said to run in 1080p at 60 frames per second on Sony's PlayStation 4, while the Xbox One version is rumored to be running at 900p and 60 frames per second, although developer 4A Games has mentioned that they are working on upping the resolution on Microsoft's next-gen platform in order for it to be in line with the PS4.

Metro Redux is coming out on August 26 in the United States, and on August 29 in Europe, for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.
