The rumor that a new Mortal Kombat game is in the making might actually turn out to be true, after actor Kiefer Sutherland's latest reveal during an interview related to his latest work on MGS5.

During the talk with IGN, 24 star Kiefer Sutherland detailed his role as Snake in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. He also mentioned that he was involved with an undisclosed Mortal Kombat game, when comparing the scope of the work for the two productions.

He believes that, while Mortal Kombat is "such a huge game," it's completely different from Metal Gear Solid 5, and that his work was completed "pretty quickly compared to [MGS5]."

"Oh man, that's been a gig and a half! I've been working on that for over a year," the star commented on his involvement with the development process of MGS5: Phantom Pain.

During an interview on Gamerhub TV last summer, Mortal Kombat: Legacy producer Lance Sloane leaked that a new Mortal Kombat game was in production, to be launched alongside the 2015 feature film version of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy webseries.
