Hideo Kojima, the leader of the development team working on the Metal Gear series, says that it will be impossible for this team to launch The Legacy Collection on the Xbox 360, but he suggests that the package might arrive on the next generation of home consoles from Microsoft.

On his radio show, quoted by Kotaku, he states, “I'm sorry to say an Xbox 360 version isn't being released. To explain the situation, the amount of data in MGS4 is just too enormous.”

The developer then adds that as long as Microsoft upgrades the disk drives in the Xbox 720 to use the Blu-ray standard, then it would be easy to take Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection and port it over.

A full reveal for the Xbox 720 will be offered by the parent company on May 21 and rumors suggest that the console will include Blu-ray drives.
