Mega Man is getting a board game, as crazy as that may seem. Developer Jasco Games has already secured funding for the game via Kickstarter, and the pre-orders are up on its website.

The Mega Man Boardgame Kickstarter campaign ended at the end of January, raising almost six times more than the initial goal of $70k/€51k.

"We have been working with CapCom since the start of this project and have secured a license. Everything we have shown them so far has received positive comments and we anticipate continuing support from CapCom," the Kickstarter page reads.

The boardgame is created by enthusiastic fans of the Mega Man series and the creator and publisher of the Universal Fighting System CCG, featuring popular fighters from various games such as Soul Calibur, Tekken, Street Fighter and others.

Pre-orders for the Mega Man Boardgame are now open on Jasco Games' website, a copy of the game going for $80/€59.

The game is expected to come out in October 2014.
