As we reported earlier today, Gearbox Software decided to release the first DLC for Borderlands 2, Mechromancer, one week earlier that it was originally scheduled.

Well, it looks like players who already own Borderlands 2 can now download the Mechromancer DLC via Steam.

However, the new DLC will be available for other platforms (PS3 and Xbox 360) as well, by the end of the day.

The new DLC brings a new Mechromancer class named Gaige who can deploy a giant robot named Death Trap. This giant killer is meant to draw enemy fire, but he can also be used as an utility robot for supplying Gaige and his party with ammo and other supplies.

Keep in mind that while Mechromancer DLC is available for players who pre-purchased Borderlands 2, those who did not pre-order the game will have to pay 9.99 EUR for this expansion.
