Indie developer Wales Interactive has announced its plans to release its sci-fi horror game Master Reboot on the PlayStation 3 console next month.

Wales Interactive Co-Founder David Banner has expressed his excitement regarding next month’s launch, marking the first console release for the small developer.

Over on the PSBlog, he proceeded to offer a run-down of Master Reboot, “a haunting first-person sci-fi adventure game.”

The game takes place in the future, after humankind has created the Soul Cloud, a giant server that holds people’s soul data and memories after they pass away.

Master Reboot starts when the playable character wakes up with no recollection of who or where he is, and players have to navigate the mysterious and surreal environments in order to decipher what went wrong and try to make sense of what’s going on.

The developer aimed to offer a more haunting experience, in order to steer away from the usual violence seen in recent horror titles, their aim being to evoke a certain uneasiness in players, with dread slowly building up.
