Creators Funimation and Production I.G. have announced that they have delayed the Mass Effect: Paragon Lost from November 13 to December 28, although neither of the two companies has given any reason for the move.

Paragon Lost will appear exclusively via DVD and Blu-ray and the two companies have no plans to also air it on television yet.

The Mass Effect anime is designed to act as a prequel to the events of the third and final game in the Commander Shepard saga and will be focused on James Vega, one of the new companions BioWare has created for the game.

The anime will introduce a number of new characters and will detail their adventures in fighting the Reaper threat.

Mass Effect 3 is the second BioWare-made intellectual property that has received the anime treatment after Dragon Age.

BioWare plans to continue delivering new single player and multiplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3.
