Video game developer BioWare and comic book publisher Dark Horse announce that the first issue of a new Mass Effect: Foundation comic book is now out, giving fans of the franchise a new chance to dive into their favorite universe.

The official description of the new series states, “Introducing Rasa, a mysterious agent working behind the scenes for the Illusive Man and his human-survivalist paramilitary group, Cerberus!”

The new character will interact with familiar faces like Urdnot Wrex, Ashley Williams and Kaidan Alenko, with storyline links to the Citadel downloadable content for Mass Effect 3.

Writing duties on Mass Effect: Foundation are handled by Mac Walters, who has also created the second and third titles in the video game franchise, while the art team is made up of Tony Parker and Omar Francia.

BioWare has already confirmed that it is working on a new Mass Effect game that’s not linked to the Commander Shepard saga.
