Nintendo might release Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U in April of 2014, at least according to a new report that cites a newsletter sent by the Japanese company in Europe.

Mario Kart 8 was revealed to the world last month during one of Nintendo's special E3 2013 Direct video conferences.

Even if the company showed plenty of gameplay and allowed E3 2013 attendants to try out the game, it revealed that Mario Kart 8 won't be launched this year, instead opting for a 2014 release.

Now, thanks to a newsletter sent to Spanish fans, via Twitter, Nintendo has apparently given Mario Kart 8 a smaller release period, saying, as you can see in the image above, that the racing game will be out for the Wii U in April of 2014.

No other details were revealed and, given that the launch date is still many months away, fans should probably wait for some official announcements before planning out their Wii U game purchases.
