Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida has announced that there will be a lot more new PlayStation 4 game announcements coming in September.

Gematsu has translated a recent interview with Yoshida, from Japanese video game magazine Famitsu, revealing Sony's ambitious plan to introduce as many new games for the PlayStation 4 platform as possible at Gamescom 2014.

"But to be honest, in selecting the games we wanted to introduce, we realized it wasn't possible to fit everything into the frame of the conference, so unfortunately there were some games we couldn't introduce this time," Yoshida has told the magazine.

He has then confirmed that there are many more game announcements coming at Sony's Tokyo Game Show press conference, when we're likely to also see some Japan-specific news, alongside the leftovers from Gamescom.

Tokyo Game Show takes off on September 18, and Yoshida has made sure to note that Sony secured more Japanese games, in order to help the PlayStation 4 take off in the region.

The PS4 hasn't performed very well in Japan so far, and Sony has been teasing gamers regarding more Japanese content, so we'll see what the company has prepared for next month.

Globally however, Sony's next-gen console has been doing pretty good, with the corporation confirming having surpassed the 10 million units sold mark.
