Fredrik Wester, the chief executive officer of Paradox Interactive, says that the upcoming Magicka: Wizard Wars is designed to appeal to those players who are tired of traditional MOBA titles.

The CEO tells Destructoid that his company is not merely trying to benefit from a popular trend and instead aims to create a new interesting type of experience that uses the core elements of the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena genre.

He states, “Magicka you have to watch your teammates. If your teammate is low on health you can't just throw a fireball in his general direction because you're going to kill him. We are also focusing more on 10- to 20-minute matches.”

Wester reveals that he no longer plays League of Legends because matches can go over an hour and he wants to play shorter and more exciting games in the same time frame.
