The team at Electronic Arts in charge of Madden NFL 25 announces that the new American football sim has managed to sell more than 1 million units in just one week after it was available in stores, making it the best-selling title for August.

Gamers have reached more than 6 million hours of play time during the first week as well, with the most popular match being one between the Seahawks vs 49ers.

The sales are lower than those seen by Madden 13, which delivered 1.65 million units to players during its first week on sale.

EA Sports is expecting to see another burst of Madden NFL 25 sales when the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One are launched.

Andrew Wilson, the executive vice president of the company, is quoted by GamesIndustry.biz as stating, “We’re confident we can sustain this momentum as we move towards the launch of next generation consoles this Fall with the most innovative Madden NFL yet.”
