The final round of the fan-voted contest for the cover of the upcoming Madden NFL 15 is right around the corner, and fans are rushing to select their favorite player to star on the box.

The two lucky players left in the contest are Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks, the best-paid defensive back currently in the league, and Cam Newton, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers and breaker of numerous rookie and all-time NFL records.

Voting in the contest will end this Friday, June 6, and the winner of the competition will be announced on ESPN's SportsCenter. For now, Sherman seems to be the favorite, being talked about the most on Twitter, as the ESPN Madden vote website shows.

The contest put together sixteen candidates that have never been featured on a Madden cover ever before, going head-to-head in a tournament-style bracket where only one can emerge victorious.

Madden NFL 15 will be released on August 26 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms in North America and on August 29 in Europe.

More information about the upcoming American football sports video game is expected to be presented at this year's edition of the E3 convention, taking place June 10 through June 12 in Los Angeles, California.
