Video game developer EA Sports announces that voting is at the moment open for a long-running process that will determine which athlete will grace the cover of the upcoming Madden NFL 15, with all fans invited to support their favorite players.

The first round involves just 16 candidates at the moment and a winner will be announced late in June, after four full rounds.

Gamers who like the Madden series can also check out how their favorite athletes will be represented in the coming American football simulation.

The title is currently set to be launched on August 26 of this year on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, and current-gen consoles.

The athletes involved in the cover vote at the moment are:

CB Richard Sherman - Seattle versus WR Alshon Jeffery - Chicago TE Jimmy Graham New - Orleans versus RB Eddie Lacy - Green Bay WR Demariyus Thomas - Denver versus LB Luke Kuechly - Carolina QB Colin Kaepernick - San Francisco versus QB Nick Foles - Philadelphia QB Cam Newton - Carolina versus WR Antonio Brown - Pittsburgh RB Jamaal Charles - Kansas City versus WR A.J. Green - Cincinnati RB LeSean McCoy - Philadelphia versus WR T.Y. Hilton - Indianapolis QB Andrew Luck - Indianapolis versus RB Alfred Morris - Washington

Madden NFL 15 will use the entirely new Ignite engine developed by EA Sports and that means the development team will be able to introduce a number of new animations and make the entire experience closer to real life.

At the same time, the studio is aiming to make sure that the experience remains accessible to newcomers while also delivering depth for long-term fans.
