The team at Avalanche Studios wants to make sure that gamers who will play the coming Mad Max video game will explore all areas of the world in order to discover side stories and more information about the lore that inspired their creation.

Senior Game Designer Emil Kraftling tells AusGamers that even an old seabed that might seem uninteresting can hide elements that give hints about the past and about treasure.

He says, “There’s a lot of interesting stuff there for us as developers as well as for players, and what we know and what the players know will not necessarily be the same.”

Kraftling says that the team at Avalanche has more information about the game world and the Mad Max lore than most players will have and its eager to make sure that at least some of it is explained to the community.

The post-apocalyptic game should be launched in 2014 on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
