Major League Gaming announces that it will switch the consoles on which all future 2K and 5K tournaments for Call of Duty: Ghosts are played from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One effective immediately, in order to make sure that its players benefit from the most recent hardware.

The company’s official announcement adds that “Also, this week (NA = Tuesday, EU = Thursday) will be the last time Xbox 360 Ghosts Ladders impact the Pro Points Rankings. The Pro Points Rankings released on Tuesday, July 15th (NA) and Thursday, July 17th (EU) will be the first to incorporate Xbox One Ghosts Ladders.”

MLG also says that it might make more changes to both 2K and 5K Call of Duty: Ghosts rules in the coming weeks.

The Call of Duty series has long been connected to Microsoft's home consoles, and at the moment Activision is delivering all downloadable content for the first-person shooters it launches with a one-month exclusivity for the Xbox One and the 360.

The publisher will launch a new title in the franchise, called Advanced Warfare, on November 8.

Major League Gaming is the largest eSports organization in the world and runs a variety of tournaments and contests for shooters, MOBA titles, and newcomers like Hearthstone.
