The development team working on the PlayStation 4 version of MLB 14: The Show is delivering a new video for the game, which uses the simulated stadiums included in the title to show off the improved game engine of the baseball title.

Features that are being demoed in the footage include the new lighting engine, increased polygon count, specular maps, crowd details, better grass and more.

All of them are possible because of the improved computing power that Sony has managed to pack into its next-gen platform and the ways the developers have managed to use it.

The team explains that, "Each of the 30 Major League Stadiums have their own unique personality and vibe. Now, thanks to the power of the PS4, these cathedrals are brought to life in a way never before seen on a video game console."

The new baseball title will be launched just in time for the new season of America's most popular pastime and is designed to offer a more realistic simulation than ever, both when it comes to the core mechanics and to the ways player are represented.

MLB 14: The Show will be launched on the PlayStation 4 on May 6 and the game can already be played on the PS3.
