Video game publisher Capcom announces that its upcoming Lost Planet 3 is currently set to launch on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the PC and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft on August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe.

The game was initially set to arrive on late June in all territories and the company is quoted by VG247 as saying that business reasons are to blame for the delay, which will disappoint the series faithful.

Lost Planet 3 is an actual prequel to the series and will see players explore the frozen planet both on foot and using their own mech.

The game is set to offer a third person shooter experience that focuses on straight up action but also encourages the player to explore and carefully manage his exposure to the elements.
