The free to play shooter was practically an overnight success

Developer Edge of Reality has recently revealed some pretty impressive numbers related to their newly-launched free-to-play third-person shooter Loadout.

Loadout is a fresh addition to Steam, having launched barely a month ago, and the team behind it seems to be fond of big numbers. Having initially pointed out that the game's unique weapon creating system allows for a variety of weapons numbering in the billions, the devs now shared that their game has seen 2 million sign-ups in its first two weeks of existence.

Further adding to the list of big numbers, the team has revealed that their intense multiplayer shooter has been played for over 9 million hours, being right at the top of Steam's free-to-play list, among long-time established titled such as Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2.

The team pointed out that their unexpected success led to some hurdles regarding the availability of servers closely after Loadout's launch, even though they had prepared additional capacity servers for the event.

"Very few Steam titles have reached the peak concurrent users we achieved upon release. We're committed to delivering an excellent game to our community, and we continue to work hard to ensure that our servers provide all our players with the same fluid, responsive, and enjoyable experience across the board," Edge of Reality CEO Rob Cohen stated.

Loadout is currently available free exclusively for the PC, on Steam.
