Ted Timmins, the franchise manager of the Fable series at Microsoft, says that the launch of the new Fable Anniversary shows that the series can exist without the involvement of original creator Peter Molyneux.

He tells VG247 that, “What made the original special is that when you do think about the myriad of features the game had, not all of those came from Peter. Just as Fable anniversary is special to the fans, I know the developers who worked on that game ten years ago are excited about the stuff they hid in the original game and they want to see if it’s still there.”

The developer admits that Peter Molyneux played a huge role in the development of the first Fable title, but Lionhead has enough talent to push the concept forward without him.

At the moment, the studio is working on Fable Legends, which is a prequel with new mechanics, for the Xbox One, set to be launched during the current year.
