Ken Levine, the leader of the development team at Irrational Games, says that his team put a lot of effort into the coming Burial at Sea DLC for BioShock Infinite in order to make sure that players feel like they are actually returning to the Rapture of the first game in the series.

He tells IGN that, “We just bit the bullet and said, ‘if we want it to feel like BioShock 1 we’re going to have to make all these things happen.’ If it didn’t feel like Rapture, it would just feel like a coat of paint. We knew we didn’t want to do that.”

The Artificial Intelligence of the game and the way combat works have both been modified to bring them closer to the experience of the first BioShock.

In Burial at Sea, players will be able to explore the city before its downfall and will have to use Booker’s detective skills to find a missing girl and discover a larger plot.
