Developer Funcom has released a brand-new Lego Minifigures Online video, this time around exploring the medieval world of castles, dragons, trolls and other such things that belong with heroes and sorcery.

The trailer details some of the highlights in the life of Elementius the Pieromancer, a ruthless villain wanted for the heinous crime of pie-throwing. The evil medieval denizen of the world of Lego Minifigures Online takes pleasure in terrorizing the citizens of the Lego world, from the safety of his mage tower.

And, as we all know, that can only mean one thing: players have to embark on a quest to battle his minions, consisting of ugly trolls, uglier ogres, some fairies and other such mythological creatures, and then capture Elementius the Pieromancer himself and deliver him to the king.

Lego Minifigures Online will be released as a free-to-play game for the PC, Android and iOS platforms later this year, and it is going into open beta sometime this June.

Registrations for the open beta of the massively multiplayer online game are open on the Lego Minifigures Online website.

The game will allow you to unlock various new minifigures through normal gameplay, but players will also be able to unlock new minifigs by purchasing physical Lego Minifigures bags that contain special codes that can be redeemed online.
