There are now two uses for everything players can find in the game world

The team working on Legend of Grimrock 2 is introducing a set of changes linked to item use and combat in its upcoming classic third-person action game, designed to make the entire experience more exciting and easier to enjoy.

All items will now have two uses, one activated by just pushing the use button and another activated by holding it down for a set period of time.

Almost Human states in an official blog that, “the primary action of the dagger is a melee attack, but in Grimrock 2 you can also throw a dagger by holding the attack button down briefly.”

A long sword can thrust in order to bypass some enemy armor and deliver a more accurate blow and the team wants to balance the abilities and the time needed to activate them in order to make them useful in battle without creating an unbalanced experience.

Magic items that have charges are also given a basic attack, to make sure they remain interesting in the long term and that backpack use is kept to a minimum during battles.

As the attached image shows, the weapons in Legends of Grimrock 2 will also have new information offered, to make it clearer when they can be used and how fast they can strike.
