It seems that the coming Kinect peripheral for the Xbox One will ask players to stand at a minimum distance of 1.4 meters from its sensor in order to be tracked, a shorter distance than for the original version of the tech.

A leaked Brazilian installation manual for the Kinect and the Xbox One also says that the sensor has to stay at least 0.5 meters off the ground and at a maximum height of 1.8 meters.

The manual also suggests that the motion tracking process works better if the device stays a little higher than normal off the ground.

The new Kinect system is deemed by Microsoft to be crucial for the Xbox One because it powers many of its control and social features.

The new hardware will be out on November 22 on 13 core markets all over the world.
