An Ubisoft survey concerning the future of the Assassin's Creed series has just leaked online, containing quite a few interesting questions that hint at the future of the series, including a spinoff pirate game, but also a modern-day installment with a new hero.

Ubisoft is determined to continue making new Assassin's Creed games each year and already confirmed that a new title will debut in 2014, after this year's Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.

Now, a survey has appeared online, via IGN, hinting at some of the directions Ubisoft wants to take the series.

Questions included the possibility of a spinoff pirate game which could include customizable pirate character, a ship, and a hideout, but also more activities both on land and on the sea. A multiplayer naval warfare mode is also mentioned, both in terms of a cooperative and a competitive experience.

Another question related to a modern-day Assassin's Creed experience, while talking about different historical settings.

Ubisoft has confirmed the survey to be genuine but declined to offer any other details.
