Riot Games has confirmed that the upcoming overhauled version of Summoner's Rift, its most popular map in League of Legends, will allow for better and smoother performance on all PCs, particularly less powerful ones and laptops.

League of Legends is one of the most popular online games out there and most players enjoy it on the Summoner's Rift map, which provides the basic MOBA layout with an array of other features.

As such, when Riot revealed that it was going to remake the map in order to improve all sorts of elements, many fans were worried that the new level would spark worse performance for the game.

While talking with Polygon, Riot Games has confirmed that the map is specifically designed to improve performance and provide a smoother experience on all PCs, particularly those with less CPU or GPU power.

The overhauled map features drastically less polygons, as this was a key aspect of its design phase, besides providing an easier to comprehend experience and environment.

The new version of Summoner's Rift will be deployed in the following months. Ahead of that, a special Public Beta Environment with the map is going to be released for testing, so that players can check out the level and share their thoughts about it.
