Video game developer Riot Games has announced that it plans to launch a Russian version of its Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title League of Legends in the near future, complete with dedicated servers and a new localized website that will help players get quickly up to speed with the game mechanics.

Brandon Beck, who is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Riot Games, stated, “We’ve listened carefully to the rising volume of voices asking for League of Legends in Russia. We are looking forward to delivering fully localized service and support, and we are optimistic that the passionate community of Russian speaking PC gamers will embrace League of Legends.”

League of Legends has been launched in 2009 and has since managed to draw in more than 30 million players with its free-to-play and microtransaction oriented business model.

Players can now enjoy the League of Legends model in English, French, German, Spanish and Polish.
