Yoshinori Ono, who is the producer at Capcom working on the Street Fighter series, has announced that after his hospital stay earlier in the week he is taking a step back from his leadership position and will allow another person to take over some of his duties.

Speaking on Twitter, Yoshinori Ono said, “I'll be out of the limelight... for a while. Another person in charge of the Street Fighter series for a while. Of course I'll constant support to it.”

The Capcom developer is now out of the hospital and says that he has no plans to resign from his position.

Street Fighter might just be the biggest fighting game in the world of video games at the moment, and Capcom is planning to expand the franchise in the coming years, after the success of the recently released Street Fighter x Tekken.

A Namco Bandai take on the same universe crossover is under development and fans are also awaiting news on a possible next-generation Street Fighter V.
