Developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony announce that the soundtrack for their upcoming game The Last of Us is being created by Gustavo Santaolalla and will be launched exclusively via the Music Unlimited service.

The composer is best known for creating two Academy Award winning soundtracks in consecutive years, for Brokeback Mountain in 2006 and then for Babel in 2007.

The teams are also releasing a video showing Gustavo Santaolalla as he offers information on the design process for The Last of Us.

The Last of Us will be available worldwide and fans can listen to the soundtrack while they wait for the first half of the game to download before actually playing it.

The team has also promised that the yet unrevealed multiplayer mode of the game will be the best ever conceived.
