The development team at Traveller's Tales and publisher Warner Bros. are suggesting that they are planning to make actual building a big part of the upcoming LEGO Dimensions, which is designed to allow gamers to play with a wide variety of characters.

The information comes from a Twitter message that is designed to celebrate National Superhero Day.

The wording is clearly intended to tell gamers that the legacy of the other titles in the series will be carried forward in the new game, which is designed to compete with Disney Infinity and Skylanders.

LEGO Dimensions is an experience built around real world figurines, which can be used to gain access to a variety of characters and the adventures associated with them.

Bricks can be used to create a gateway, and the two companies are planning to offer both a starter and a set of fun packs for gamers.

Each of them will be based on a major franchise that Warner Bros. owns, from Lord of the Rings to DC Comics and Ninjago.

LEGO Dimensions is set to be launched on September 27 in the United States and on September 29 in Europe, offered on the PlayStation 4, the Wii U, the Xbox One, and last-gen devices.
