Hideo Kojima, the leader of the development team working on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, says that he is aiming to deliver a 60 FPS experience on both the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft.

He tells Eurogamer during Tokyo Game Show that, "Fox Engine was created with the current generation in mind. Maybe with other games that are being created exclusively for next-gen it might look a little behind. "

Kojima says that the gameplay of the various game versions will be identical although fans might see some differences when it comes to resolution and light use, which are natural given the increased processing power of next-gen hardware.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is an open world experience that will redefine the core concepts of the series and will be launched at some point in 2014.
