The actor has to work with motion from another performer

Hideo Kojima, the leader of the team working on the new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, says that the complex process of capturing movement, facial expressions and voice for the main character of the title is proving to be difficult.

He tells Game Informer that, "At this time it has been rather difficult because with Keifer we’re doing facial capture and voice capture, and the recording has been rather difficult. This is because we already have the motion capture from another actor and into that we’re putting the facial acting and the voice acting."

The creator of Metal Gear also avoided any comment on exactly why he chose to replace long-time voice actor David Hayter for the new game.

The Phantom Pain will use an open world structure for the first time in the series and will be launched on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and current-gen consoles in 2014.
