Yoshinori Kitase, one of the producers working on the Final Fantasy series, says that Square Enix might be interested in bringing more of them to the PC in the coming years as long as their current releases perform well.

He says that when the three XIII titles were developed, the team worked mainly on the PC, but on launch a decision was made to focus on consoles.

The producer is quoted by Eurogamer as saying that, “we decided against it for two reasons: we looked at the market situation and we didn’t think it would be a good idea, and also it would have involved lots of complex issues like security. So we decided not to do it this time around.”

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has performed well on the PC and the company says that more titles might be announced soon.

Final Fantasy XV is set to be launched only on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
