Yoshinori Kitase, a producer working on the Final Fantasy series, says that it would be very hard to get the resources required to create a full modern remake of Final Fantasy VII, despite the many requests for the title coming from the fan base.
He tells Eurogamer that, “If you simply ask me if I personally would like to do that, yes I would. Definitely. There’s no lie about it. But you must believe me when I say it would take a lot to happen.”
Kitase believes that he would need a big staff and budget and that Square Enix has other priorities at the moment when it comes to the Final Fantasy series.
The developer also believes that a full remake would be the biggest project he would ever undertake.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has just been launched and Square Enix is already working on FF XV for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
