In a peculiar turn of events, the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo has been released for the PC platform both on Electronic Arts’ own Origin platform, as well as on Valve’s Steam.

Electronic Arts saw most of its games kicked off of Steam due to Valve’s terms of service, so the company created its own Origin digital distribution program, which is now pretty much the only way to experience titles from the major publisher.

We’ve already heard that Mass Effect 3 won’t be available on Steam, but it seems that the upcoming Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a game that will be published by EA, can now be pre-purchased on Valve’s own digital service.

What’s more, like many other games that are available on Steam, it uses services like Steam Cloud or Steam Achievements, while players who pre-order it can enjoy exclusive items in Team Fortress 2, Valve’s popular online shooter.

As of right now, the demo for the game on the PC can be downloaded both from EA’s Origin and Valve’s Steam.
