Czech developer Warhorse Studios has released the first in a series of video updates for their upcoming single-player medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

The team aims to deliver a thrilling journey through a realistic medieval Europe, doing away with magic and other fantasy elements in order to deliver a truly authentic experience.

In the first Kickstarter video blog, the developers detail the map-making process, showing how they used a real map from the early 19th century that featured a lot of interesting locations, such as two castles, towns and monasteries, and they processed it and then integrated it into the game.

They also used a satellite map from the area and on-location photographs in order to properly convey the terrain, the vegetation, colors and general mood of the area.

Next, they delve into the dungeon beneath an ancient castle and show the beautiful surrounding countryside that will all be accurately represented in-game.

The next update will come in a few days, showing the period-accurate realistic combat-system.
