Czech studio Warhorse officially unveiled its current project, a very different type of role-playing game titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance, that was previously only teased about a year ago.

The main difference is that as opposed to all manner of role-playing games out there, this one will feature no orcs, no demons, no fireballs or dragons, no trace of conventional fantasy content whatsoever. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a historically-inspired project taking place in a very real medieval setting.

Its gameplay is focused on period-accurate fighting, horseback combat, huge open-field battles and sieges. It’s based around the Holy Roman Empire during the last days of the Middle Ages, with the number 1403, featured in the game's logo, presumably a date, as reported by Kotaku.

For now, the team at Warhorse has not yet been able to secure a publisher for their realistic role-playing project, but there is still hope on the horizon, as detailed in a dev blog post.

The game is built on Crytek's CryEngine 3 and is currently scheduled to hit PC and next-gen consoles sometime in 2015.
